Our class took a little quiz today on chapter one and all students did very well. After the quiz, we started chapter two. Please review pages 10-13 by sounding each letter and putting them together with accent marks to form words. Students can finish sounding and writing all letters and words on pages 14 and 15.

We will have a little test this coming Sunday (10/4) on chapter one. Please review all pages of lesson one. Students are expected to recognize and correctly pronounce the alphabet (in blue folder) and dấu lập chữ & dấu thanh (page 5 in textbook). There is no writing homework for this week since students already worked on (page 9) in class. If your children have not finished page 9, please have them write and pronounce all words. This week's homework: - Review all letters in the blue folder (29 chu cai and 12 nguyen am) -Review all (dau chinh ta) on page 5 of our book -Practice pronounce all words (tu ngu) on page 6 & 7 -Practice writing letters (A, E, O, U) with the appropriate (dau lap chu or dau thanh) on page 8 Please see youtube link for the pronunciation of page 5-7: |

Hello parents and students, My name is Thuy Nguyen and I am very excited to be your children's teacher this year. One of the reason that I decided to teach this year is because my daughter, Ava, is also in this class. I want Ava the learn more Vietnamese so that she could communicate with my parents. I will try my very best to make the lessons interesting and fun for your children. For your children to be more fluent in speaking Vietnamese, please practice speaking with them each day. Homework assignments will be emailed on every Monday, so that you can work with your children during the week. I did a little review with all your children and they all seem to remember a lot from last year. They are very bright and eager to learn so we are off to a great start.
